curious wildlife, just 30 minutes from the city. While immersing yourself in the wonders of Cleland’s natural bush environment, you can see and discover more than 130 species of native wildlife. The Koala close-up experience and the hand feeding of kangaroos are definite must do’s!

Be amazed with the views from Mount Lofty Summit - before arriving at the wildlife park, we take a short stop at Mount Lofty Summit to enjoy the magnificent panorama over Adelaide. At approximately 710m, the summit is the highest point in the Adelaide Hills with uninterrupted views to the Gulf St. Vincent and as far as the eye can see north and south along the coastline.

Experience the Cleland Wildlife Park difference - this 35-hectare natural bush setting provides a unique open space environment with very few enclosures. It is home to over 130 species of native animals and is one of only a few places in the world where you can hold a koala. Cleland Wildlife Park is well known for its management and care in the health and wellbeing of the animals.

Choose your Koala encounter * - get up close to Australia’s iconic Koala! Your entry fee includes the ‘close-up’ experience where you can meet, touch and photograph one of the park’s cutest inhabitants while listening to the keepers who care for them. For an additional fee (no pre-booking), you may have a unique opportunity to hold a koala and have a professional photo taken at the same time.

Walk among the free roaming animals - as you explore the park and follow the self-discovery trails, find an abundance of native wildlife and walk among the free roaming animals in their natural environment. Explore the lively wetlands where the pelicans, cormorants and water birds live. See kangaroos, emus, dingoes, wallabies, Tasmanian devils and many more!

Enjoy an immersive experience - engaging with the park’s friendliest inhabitants provide a truly immersive experience. The best way to get up close to the kangaroos, wallabies and potoroos is by hand feeding them with the included animal food. Remember to save some for the emus and waterfowl as you make your way around the park!

Subject to park availability, optional activities (additional cost and no pre-booking) include Wombat Encounter, Reptile Hold and Bird Encounter.

Don’t forget the interactive keeper talks; it is a great way to learn about and see the animals in action! The Ocean to Outback Interpretive Centre provides an opportunity to learn about South Australia’s diverse ecosystems whilst viewing the nocturnal animals, small mammals and reptiles – you may even choose the reptile hold experience!

* This tour includes the koala ‘close up’ experience. An optional koala ‘hold’ experience is available for an additional fee from AUD$30.50 pp. The koala ‘hold’ experience cannot be pre-booked. Please note that due to animal welfare regulations, the koala experiences can be cancelled by the park without notice. Also note they do not operate on days forecast above 32 degrees Celsius (Mount Barker).

Additional Information

Please dress appropriately for the weather – note that it can be a few degrees cooler in the Adelaide Hills. We recommend you wear a sunhat, sunscreen and sunglasses. And don’t forget your camera for some great shots!

 

CANCELLATION OF TOUR OR SERVICE (BY YOU) - If you cancel some or all portions of your booking, cancellation fees will apply. A refund can only be issued to the original purchaser and same credit card used for the booking and will be made less the applicable cancellation notice fees stated below. A cancellation will only be effective once pureSA receive written email notification from you.

Cancellation Fees for all tours (except those stated in the variation below) are:

More than 30 days prior to departure: $20 administration fee.
72 hours – 30 days prior to departure: 25% fee of total booking price.
48 – 72 hours prior to departure: 50% fee of total booking price.
24 – 48 hours prior to departure: 75% fee of total booking price.
Less than 24 hours prior to departure: 100% fee of total booking price.

Variation: For Swim with the Giant Cuttlefish (2day tour or self-drive options), Swim ‘with’ Safari, Adelaide Coastal Sanctuary Explorer and the Deep Creek and Coorong Explorer the following cancellation fees apply:

More than 60 days prior to departure: 15% fee of total booking price.
30 - 60 days prior to departure: 25% fee of total booking price.
14 – 30 days prior to departure: 50% fee of total booking price.
5 – 14 days prior to departure: 75% fee of total booking price.
Less than 5 days prior to departure: 100% fee of total booking price.

Private Tours: Cancellation terms of a private tour are advised at time of request and/or confirmation.

If you fail to join a tour or are not at the designated pickup point at the correct time, pureSA reserve the right to deem you as a cancellation and no refund will be made. If you choose to leave the tour prior to its completion, no refund will be made.

ALTERATION OF TOUR OR SERVICE (BY PURESA) - pureSA may alter a tour or service at any time prior to departure due to, but not limited to, extreme weather conditions, safety considerations, park closures, or other unforeseen circumstances outside of its control. An alternative tour itinerary will be arranged or you can transfer to an alternate departure date for the same tour. No refund will be given.

CANCELLATION OF TOUR OR SERVICE (BY PURESA) - pureSA reserve the right to cancel a tour or service at any time prior to departure should operational considerations outside of its control dictate (i.e. mechanical breakdown, staff sickness). In this event you can transfer amounts paid to an alternate departure date / tour or service, or alternatively receive a full refund of your booking price.

BOOKING AMENDMENT (BY YOU) - Any amendment to your confirmed booking will attract a change fee of $20 per person. You are able to transfer from one tour or service to another (of equal value), amend your departure date or change the name of a person booked, however you must notify us at least 48 hours prior to the booked departure date, otherwise standard cancellation fees will apply as outlined previously.
