Overview

Our premium small group wine tasting tour offers you the perfect opportunity to experience the exquisite and stunning wineries in the Barossa Valley region. The day starts off at Château Yaldara: home to what is undoubtedly some of the finest shirazes as well as magnificent and well-preserved period architecture.

From Chateau Yaldara we drive through the picturesque vineyards of the Barossa Valley, and crossing Jacob’s Creek. The tour then arrives at the historic township of Tanunda where there’s time to wander up the high street and explore the quaint little shops or enjoy a coffee. As one of the best getaways in Adelaide, our next stop is the renowned Peter Lehmann winery. There our group will enjoy an exclusive structured wine tasting hosted in the beautiful Eight Songs room within their cellar door. Here you’ll be given the opportunity to sample some of the Barossa’s internationally acclaimed vintages. Peter Lehmann’s is also our venue for lunch, where you will be treated to an exquisite Weighbridge platter of cheeses, olives, the region’s finest meats and assorted vegetables accompanied by freshly baked bread (don’t worry we also have options for those who are vegetarian).

We will then head to our final wine-tasting experience for the day, Lindsay Wines. On the way, we take in the breathtaking panaromic views of the Barossa from Mengler’s Hill Lookout. At Lindsay Wines you will be treated to a beautiful experience with the fusion of art, wine and music. Learn about the winery’s fascinating history as music from the staff’s own vintage vinyl records play in the background.

The day is completed with a stop at the lovely Seppeltsfield region and another perfect photo opportunity before we finally head back to Adelaide.

What to Expect

We start the day at
a relaxing 9am picking you up at your accommodation or a pre arranged
point in Adelaide or Glenelg (8.30am). We make our way out of Adelaide through
the Adelaide Hills with our first stop the famous Whispering Wall where you
will be fascinated by its famous acoustic qualities.

Our first winery is
the beautiful and historic Château Yaldara, this is one of the most
photographed buildings in South Australia and no trip to the Barossa Valley is
complete without getting a photo in front of this iconic building.

Our trip continues
with a cruise through some of the most picturesque scenery in the Barossa
Valley. We cross the world famous Jacobs Creek as we head toward the heart of
the Barossa Valley, the beautiful and historic township of Tanunda. We have
time to wander up the main street and visit some local shops and points of
interest, a perfect place to find a souvenir or a coffee.

Lunch is a regional
highlight. While we enjoy some of the Barossa’s most internationally acclaimed
wines at the beautiful Peter Lehmann winery a platter of the best
meats, cheeses, olives, assorted vegetables and freshly baked bread the Barossa
Valley has to offer is brought to your table. (There is a great vegetarian
regional plate option also)

After lunch we take a leisurely stroll to one of the most historic and
beautiful wineries in the Barossa, Langmeil one of the most visually
stunning wineries in the region and home to the oldest known Shiraz
vineyard in the world. Stroll through the vineyard and into

the ancient cellar to sample your choice of the finest drops the state has to
offer.

Stopping to take in in the breath-taking panoramic views of the Barossa from
Mengler’s Hill Lookout, we head onwards to our next and final wine-tasting
experience at Lindsay Wines, fusing art, wine and music into a joyous
experience that simply can’t be missed. Take in the winery’s intreaging history
accompanied by music from the staff’s own collection of vintage vinyl
records.

We finish the day with a trip through the beautiful Seppeltsfield region – and the perfect
photo opportunity – before heading back to Adelaide.

 Return to Adelaide around 5-5.30pm

About Taste the Barossa

Taste the Barossa is a small family owned company started by myself, Dallas and my wife Nikki Coull. We met in 1997 while I was working in Greece and Nikki was on holiday from her home in Nottingham England. We have 3 beautiful children, James (19) Georgia (16) and Tamsin (7) I have been involved in tourism in Australia for over 17 years having previously founded Groovy Grape Getaways and am very proud to still see the Groovy buses traveling between Melbourne, Adelaide and Alice Springs today.

After spending 6 years in the UK with Nikki we made the move to Australia in 2009 and started Taste the Barossa. I have a love for the Barossa Valley after spending a great deal of my youth there with one of my first jobs being on the bottle line of the Peter Lehmann Winery.

Over the last few years we have assembled a fantastic little team that are as passionate about Adelaide and South Australia as I am. I know you will have one of the best Barossa Wine tours as you explore the stunning Adelaide wineries.
